Read-Thru

1. Great Job today! I thought things went well and everyone adapted great to the situation (Boo Triangle). It was exciting to hear everyone's play read out loud (Yeah You). Everyone casted great actors, who (hopefully) will be able to fit your vision for each part.

2. The Blackbox usage schedule (BUS) will be available by Monday.

3. I will have the list of student's phone numbers for each play/director along with an attendance sheet on Monday.

4. Finally, thank you again for those who added actors to their plays, I would imagine that they are very thankful.

  1. Hey All!
I think today went really well and was productive. I enjoyed listening to all your plays...they were awesome!
Btw...Did someone give Ariel lines in there plays? Because Mr. Moore and I noticed she didn't read anything. I know Andre said he did though. If not....I will try my best to add something in.

  3. i added a character into my show. its not major but i made her the teacher for the classroom scene. and nobody has lines in my show. Today was good but once again like i said i didnt really know what to do and people obviously weren't interested in hearing about my show so i don't know what else to do. i'm thinking of bringing in the soundtrack and going through the show song by song and describing what happens. i hope they like it, i dont want them to be bored by it. =(

  5. ok so we were all worried about Ariel, and Lena told me that she only got casted in Mason's, which sucks because now she thinks that NO ONE else wanted her

  6. I think also think today went well. Smooth, pretty chill, hopefully we got our "seriousness" across though so people won't flake. A couple of thoughts...
We did tell everyone at the end that they should check in everyday no matter what. If we enforce that, I think we should just say everyone come at 3:15 and we can maybe do a group warm up? Only for the purpose of focusing everyone! So that it signifies the beginning of rehearsal and we won't have to waste blackbox time warming up. ever. Then, we can announce who will be staying to work where and everyone disperses...in the know. Yes? No? I think that's about it today! I'm still excited:)

  7. I thought today was good, just for the sake of hearing what everyone else was bringing to the table, and the ones who read through were pretty good. I thought everyone did a pretty good job of casting, except someone needs to teach Yiddush to Don and Amber haha.
If it comes down to it I can have Ariel as an extra in mine.

  8. I agree with that idea also. It allows students to get into the mind set while not wasting Blackbox time.

number two...SHE'S IN MY PLAY. why would someone tell her she was only in one?!?!? that makes me so angry.

  11. why would she say that she wasn't casted when she was clearly casted in like 3 or 4 plays? this blogging is getting me heated.

  14. i thought today was great because i got to hear everyone's full plays being read. and colleen, today just made me so much more interested in yours, i want to watch it right now. i can't wait.

darby, i know everyone said this but good idea.

today was really cool because its so different hearing read by the actual characters than me or sean reading it. all i have to say is that yosup may be my favorite actor of all time and kenny's voice..... well. you know.

  15. McGabai-the dialogue in your play is so awesome, and I'll second (third?) on Kenny's voice and Yosup's reading

  16. you guys are doing well, as far as i can see from my "quarantine"...

i know many of you work closely together before but its good to see encouragement for each other here. You guys are putting yourselves out there with your own work, so let's keep the supportive atmosphere and teamwork going. don't be afraid to ask each other for a hand when needed. i'm looking forward to getting back and seeing how this develops.

  17. Colleen...I thought she wasn't in the plays because she didn't hear her read anything today..but I realized they were old versions of the scripts. Also, I talked to Ms. Rossi about it because apparently she told her Dad she didnt make it and was upset. SO I just wanted to make sure. Sorry for the worries. Just wanted to make sure she was included.

  23. I think it was really cool seeing how all the actors got really excited to be in everyone's work. I think its a great group of people who came out, and they're really going to make our plays meet expectations come performance day.
